Silicone Bead Wristlet

By far our most popular tutorial! Free your hands with this trendy, silicone wristlet that makes wrestling your toddler into their carseat and bringing the groceries in that much easier!

Silicone Bead Wristlet Tutorial - Cara & Co

There are two ways to make your silicone beaded wristlet:

1. From scratch using our tutorial and loose crafting supplies. This way, you can choose from over 120 different bead colors and patterns from our shop! You can also customize your keyring and clip color, matching charm, plus you have the option to add an accent bead! (We have silicone dog beads, strawberries, cowboy hats and more.)

2. Or choose from a variety of pre-packaged Wristlet DIY Kits that include all the crafting supplies and instructions needed to make this on your own. (Makes a great gift or party favor.)

Now let's get crafting! You can follow our written tutorial below or watch our YouTube tutorial above. (Or both!) The list of supplies needed is below.

Supplies Needed:

Tools Needed:

  • Scissors
  • Lighter
  • Crafting Needle (optional - help thread the beads onto the cord)
  • Pliers (optional - help pull the cord through the beads. Can be purchased as part of our Crafting Tool Set)
  • Knot Grippers (optional - help ensure knots are tight and secure)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Take your cording and lighter and melt about a 1” length of cord so that it's hard and able to string beads easily.

2. String 16 of your 19mm silicone beads onto the cording.

3. Also string your Metal Keyring and Clip onto the same cord, through the Keyring.

4. Tie the string in a double knot, as tightly as you can.

5. Making a small single knot on each hanging string, use your knot grippers to tighten the knot even further (*You are able to pull a knot tightly for your wristlet by hand, but we find the knot grippers just provide an extra sense of security and strength for your knots!)

6. Take your lighter and run it over your double knot to slightly melt it. Once the knot is cool, thread one of your strings with your crafting needle. Carefully, thread your needle through one of the beads beside your current double knot. (You may need pliers to help you get the needle through!)

7. Pull your threaded cord all the way through that bead, carefully pulling your knot into the bead to hide it.

8. You should have a string on each side of this bead. Trim them carefully, and use your lighter to melt the ends back that may be sticking out.

9. Take your small metal charm and add it to the Keyring for an extra little bit of sparkle!

10. Your wristlet is done! Add on your keys and you’re good to go!

We hope you love making your own wristlet! We would love to see the combinations you make or how you use your wristlet! Send us your photos by tagging us with the hashtag #createdwithcarasupply.

Happy Crafting!

Hi! Love the tutorial! I have a question, does your cording stretch at all? Or can you recommend a cording that stretch’s? Thank you so much

Dawn

Hello Selena!
We are so glad you enjoyed the tutorial! We now have a video tutorial on our Instagram @carasupply under the video section if you want to check that out! Our regular cord does not have any stretch to it. Hope this is helpful! Xo
