Balloon Dog

Silicone Beads

Not sure if you’ve noticed… but balloon dogs are totally making a comeback?! We don’t know why, but honestly - we’re not mad about it.

So when Candice made the cutest version out of silicone beads, we were instantly obsessed. Follow along to see how it’s done! You’re going to want to try this one!

Supplies Needed:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Tie a double knot at one end of your cord, about 1 inch from the end.

2. String on 3 of your 12mm round beads, then your lanyard clip, followed by the remainder of your beads.

3. Tie a single knot about 1 inch away from your last bead. This knot will help hold tension on your beads as you twist your dog into shape. It will eventually be pulled into your beads as you twist.

4. Starting at the beginning of your cord, skip the first bead, and form a square with beads 2-5. Twist multiple times. This forms the nose and head of the dog.

5. Skip one bead and form a square with the next 4 beads and twist multiple times. This will form the front legs of the dog.

6. Skip one bead and form a square with the next 4 beads and twist multiple times. This will form the back legs of the dog.

7. The last 2 beads are the dog’s tail. Tie a double knot tight against the last tail bead.

8. Trim your ends and lightly fuse to prevent fraying.

And just like that, your balloon dog is finished and ready to go! Attach it to your backpack, keys, purse, or anywhere you want to add a little pop of fun. It’s the perfect mix of cute, quirky, and totally unique. We can’t wait to see where you put yours!

Happy Crafting!
