Love making bracelets, but struggle with what size to make them? This is the tutorial for you! Follow along with our video tutorial to learn how! Let’s get crafting!
Supplies Needed:
- 1 x 45” 0.8mm Nylon Cording
- 2 x 25” 0.8mm Nylon Cording
- 4mm Acrylic Beads
- Tape or Clipboard
- Tape Measure
- Scissors
- Lighter
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Taking your lighter, lightly melt all the ends of your cut Nylon Cording.
2. Take one of your shorter lengths and tie a small knot on one end. Tape that end to your workspace to hold it in place. You can also use a clipboard.
3. Next, take your longer length of cording and fold it in half. Tie this length of cording in a single knot onto your long piece of cording, about ⅓ of the way down from your taped section. Separate your strands with the longer length in the center.
4. Taking your two strands, tie a square knot. Take the far left string and cross it over the middle cord. Take the right string and place it under your middle cord, and through the left loop. Pull both strands tight. Repeat this step again starting, but with your right string. This makes 1 square knot.
5. Repeat until you have 3 square knots in total.
6. Place 2 beads on both the right and left strands, and place 3 beads on the center strand, pushing the beads up to the square knots.
7. Tie 2 square knots under your 3 middle beads, ensuring the knots are as close to the beads as possible making the flower shape.
8. Repeat 6 times to make 7 flowers in a row.
9. Tie a double knot with your left and right cords. Trim and lightly fuse them to prevent fraying.
10. Untape your bracelet and cut the cording just below the knot that was taped to the table. Lightly fuse again.
11. Overlap both ends by 5 inches to form a circle.
12. Take your unused long length of cording and tie a double knot around the overlapped ends of your bracelet, ensuring the ends of your new cords are the same length.
13. Make 6 square knots over your 2 overlapped ends of the bracelet.
14. Tie another double knot, trimming and fusing the ends.
15. You should now have 2 strings coming out of either end of your row of 6 square knots. Thread a bead onto one of your strings, and tie a knot at the end of the cord. Push the bead up to the knot and tie another knot under the bead. Repeat this on the other string. Try the bracelet on and adjust the placements of the knots if you desire. Trim and fuse the ends.
The possibilities are endless with these beautiful bracelets! Keep it simple and do a string of beads. Make it detailed and do flowers! Accessorizing for your style is so much easier when you can hand pick your supplies from Cara & Co!
