Endless Possibilities: Craft Kits!
Have you got your eye on one of our Craft Kits?? Our kit designer Candice always does such a phenomenal job picking out the color schemes and pulling together unique themes! They’re loaded with beads in various sizes, colors, accent beads, clips, clasps, string - all you need is a bit of creativity and some ideas to get you started!
Our kits are always designed with the same formula in mind, so regardless of which kids craft kit you pick up (whether it’s our Limited Edition Seasonal Craft Kit, or one of our regular Kids Craft Kits!) you’ll have almost exactly the same number of supplies, just in different colors or accent beads!
We took our latest Valentines Craft Kit for a spin and there’s so many goodies packed into those plastic boxes! We started by emptying our kit - just look at all the supplies!!
And just in case you didn’t know, our craft kits are such an amazing cost-saving purchase! When you purchase a Craft Kit you can count on savings of approximately 25% on these 90+ beads as compared to loose supply! Fun and economical? Yes please!
So. What can you make with a craft kit? SO. MANY. THINGS! We took our recently released Valentine’s Craft Kit and made 7 awesome crafts, with beads & string to spare!
From zipper pulls to lanyard clip wristlets, the possibilities are endless! Let’s break down two fun crafts from the picture above that you can make with our craft kits: a lanyard clip wristlet & a silicone bracelet!
Lanyard Clip Wristlet
Supplies Needed: (all of the beads, string and clasps listed below are included in each craft kit!)
- 27 x 12mm beads
- 1 larger accent bead (we used our daisies mini for this tutorial)
- 1 small hook lanyard clip
- 1 length of nylon cord
- 1 crafting needle
- Scissors & a lighter
Step by Step Instructions:
1. Take one length of string, and fold it in half.
2. Loop your string onto your small hook lanyard clip at the halfway point.
3. Loop and tie a small knot just below the clip (about 0.5” away) and secure by running your lighter flame over it.
4. Take a larger bead or an accent bead, and thread it on to both strings at once. Push the bead up and over the knot.
5. You should have two strings coming out of your accent bead. String 15 x 12mm beads on the one side, and 12 x 12mm beads on the other side. Offsetting the knot like this will keep the wristlet stronger, and leave less direct tension/wear on that knot.
6. Tie off your two ends together in a tight double knot. Secure the knot by running your lighter flame over it.

7. Thread one side of your string with your craft needle and pass it through one of the beads next to the knot.
8. Pull your string through the bead, and carefully pull your knot into the middle of that bead to hide and secure it.
9. Trim and melt your ends. Voila!
Silicone Bracelet
Next let’s make a bracelet! We’ve had a number of questions over the years on how to make a bracelet with a breakaway clasp that is still tight enough to not expose any string, and loose enough to be able to wear. We’ve got a solution that should give you the perfect tension every time!
Supplies Needed: (all of the beads, string and clasps listed below are included in each craft kit!)
- 12 x 12mm beads
- 2 small accent beads (we used our dainty tulip beads!)
- 1 set of breakaway clasps
- 1 length of nylon cord
- Scissors & a lighter
- Needle nose plier (Can be purchased as part of our Crating Tool set)
Step by Step Instructions:
1. Start by threading on to one end of your string one half of the breakaway clasp set.
2. Make a small single knot on the very end of your string. Take your lighter and secure the knot by running your flame over it to slightly melt and fuse the cording. Quickly move your breakaway clasp over the warm knot and into the interior of the clasp.
3. From the other end of your string, start threading on your silicone beads in the order you prefer them, being sure that the amount of beads you use equals the length you want the bracelet to be.
4. Once you have your length set, thread on your other half of the breakaway clasp.
5. Holding your string with one hand, and your plier with the other, push downward on your plier and squeeze the beads on the string below together.
6. Close your plier and hold it tightly with one hand in that spot, maintaining the tension on the beads and string.
7. With your other hand, carefully loop and knot a small single knot. Synch it up and tighten it as closely to your closed plier as you can.
8. While still holding the plier closed, trim your string on the other side of the knot, and run your lighter flame over the knot and trimmed end.
9. Open your plier to release the tension. Your little end knot should slip into the breakaway clasp, making a nice clean bracelet ending!
